BiBi (Bianca Botha)

Bibi is a South African wildlife artist who specialises in smoke art and bronze sculpting. Growing up with the bushveld, Bibi was surrounded by wildlife from a young age. This close connection to nature fostered a deep passion for wildlife, which has become the central theme in all her artworks.

Bibi’s smoke art involves an intricate process of staining paper with the smoke from a candle. Using various tools, she then cleans the smoke to reveal detailed images of animals. This technique allows her to create ethereal and hauntingly beautiful depictions of wildlife, emphasizing the transient nature of the natural world.
