Boyce Magandela Bio
Biography
Magandela was born in the Cape Town township of Langa and studied art at the Community Art Project (2003). He works from his home studio in Mitchell’s Plain, Cape Town. In 2005 he was an ABSA I’Atelier Award top ten finalist and in 2006 a Brett Kebble Award exhibition finalist. He has exhibited successfully in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Austria and Germany. Magandela has been involved in several workshops and has taken part in several group exhibitions, the most recent being Wood, Stone and Clay at The Cape Gallery (2021). His latest solo exhibition, The Catastrophic Time, was held at the Everard Read Gallery, Cape Town (2021). Magandela’s art is held in corporate collections around the world.
